WHAT ARE CAPACITOR DISCHARGE WELDING MACHINES?
Capacitor discharge welding (CDW) is very similar to resistance welding but is a completely different method of joining. The main difference is that a very strong current stored in capacitors is flowed on the material in a very short time, enabling the parts to be joined. It is used in the projection welding process. It is especially preferred in joining processes where materials with different properties, coated materials and welding penetration are required to be very high.
It is also defined as cold welding because of its very low thermal deformation. Although the initial investment cost is high, it is a preferred process in terms of welding penetration and energy saving. Siff Elektromekanik is the first company in Turkey to develop this method with a completely domestic design.
