General features
What does the SMP640 do?
Programming is done with 9 keys and an LCD screen; the LCD has 7 lines of 20 characters and a Turkish menu. 99 welding programs can be set; programs 95-99 are used sequentially. Current is adjusted by synchronised thyristors. Each program has 16 selectable welding parameters. Slow current upslope, pulse, pre-weld and post-weld functions are available. The RMS current value is refreshed on the screen at every weld. Constant current operation mode is available: lower and upper tolerance values can be selected for the welding current and operation programmed between them; the unit automatically corrects possible changes in current values and stops automatically on overcurrent faults with an error message. Approach piston control is available for double stroke cylinders. For each program, the number of spot welds on the part is entered; the unit counts the spot welds and also reports the total as a part count. When the entered number of spot welds is completed, the machine stops and waits for operator confirmation. A spot weld warning count can also be entered for each program; when it is reached, the machine stops. Single or repeated spot operation is available, and welded or weld-free operation can be selected. There is a pulse option, 4 solenoid valve outputs, and pedal and two-hand operation options. Possible errors are shown in writing on the LCD screen.
